The Empyrean · Fan Guide

Privacy Policy

The short version: this is a static fan site. We don't run accounts, we don't set cookies, and the little analytics we do run is cookieless and doesn't store your IP address. Here's the longer version.

◆ The short version

dragonkind.wiki is a static website. There is no account system, no login, no signup, no newsletter, and no comment section. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any personal information, and we do not set cookies of our own. We do run one cookieless traffic counter, described under Cookies & analytics.

◆ Information we collect

We do not directly collect personal data. Like almost any website, the hosting provider that serves this site may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested) for security and operational purposes. We do not use those logs to identify individual visitors.

The one thing we measure ourselves is aggregate traffic: which pages are viewed, the page you arrived from, your approximate location (country and city, worked out from your IP address — the IP itself is not stored), your device, browser and operating system, and rough interactions such as clicks on links and buttons and copy events. This tells us which guides are actually useful. It is not linked to your name or email address, it is not used to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not sell it.

◆ Cookies & analytics

We set no cookies at all — not for analytics, not for advertising, not for tracking. When you load a page here, two kinds of third-party requests leave your browser:

Instead of a cookie, Rybbit keeps one random, anonymous visitor ID in your browser's localStorage (key rybbit-visitor-id) so that a return visit counts as the same visitor instead of a new one. It holds no personal information, it is never used to follow you to other websites, and we never sell it or share it with advertisers.

You can opt out at any time: open your browser console and run localStorage.setItem('disable-rybbit', '1'), or simply block the script with an ad or content blocker. The site works exactly the same either way — nothing here depends on analytics.

◆ Third-party links

Some pages link out to third-party sites — most notably Amazon, as a convenience for looking up a book. Those are plain links: they carry no affiliate or referral tag, so following one tells us nothing about you and earns us nothing. We also link to the official dragonkind.com experience, to the author's official website, and to social platforms. Once you leave dragonkind.wiki, the destination's own cookies and privacy policy apply, and we have no control over — or access to — the data they collect. Our commercial-links statement is on the affiliate disclosure page.

◆ Advertising (future)

We may enable advertising (for example, Google AdSense) at some point. If we do, advertising partners such as Google may set cookies and use technologies like web beacons to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads, subject to their own policies. We will update this page before any such advertising goes live, and we'll describe it here in plain language.

◆ Children's privacy

This site is intended for general readers and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. We do not ask anyone — children included — for personal information such as a name or email address.

◆ Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, when advertising is enabled — we'll update this page and change the date above. Significant changes will be called out at the top of the page.
